During the “The Wonderful World Of Disney: Disneyland 60” TV special on ABC in American, actor Harrison Ford revealed some exclusive new details about the Star Wars theme park areas coming to Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.
Though there wasn’t much in the way of news in the segment, there were a few details given about one of the new attractions in which guests will take a ride in the Millennium Falcon. This interactive ride will make you the pilot and give you control over the guns too.
Disney has also officially released some of the concept art in high-resolution.
Disney says: “Star Wars Land promises to bring this galaxy to life” through the combined forces of Lucasfilm and Disney Imagineering. Guests will have the chance to take “complete control of the Millennium Falcon, and get caught up in the middle of a battle between the Resistance and the First Order. Or, if you’re in the mood for something a little less adrenaline-pumping, you can walk around Star Wars Land meeting droids and aliens, entering an otherworldly street market,” “actually tasting the local delicacies” (including blue Bantha milk), “going upscale at the planet’s best dinner club,” or “heading down to the local cantina.”
On a little geeky note, one piece of concept art which caught my eye was the one with the sweet little nod to Darth Vader’s apprentice ‘Starkiller’ from the The Force Unleashed 2 in his Ultimate Sith Edition attire…see below
The ones below look like some ‘Princess’ themed Naboo areas
The life-size Millennium Falcon area also looks spectacular.
