Star Wars Episode IX: New Character Concept Art Leaks Online!

While the plot and any imagery from Star Wars Episode IX has remained largely under-wraps… UNTIL NOW!!

We’ve just seen a pretty significant leak of character images, these 17 reference pictures of characters from the new film were just posted online by JediPraxis over at the /StarWarsLeaks subreddit.

JediPaxis released the following comment with this post:

“These images come courtesy of a source who has previously provided me information on previous films that were eventually proven to be correct. This individual wishes to remain anonymous (for fairly obvious reasons) and that’s why I’m posting this on his behalf. The images have been compiled into a collage with the unimportant sections of each image having been altered in an attempt to obscure where/who they came from. I would also like to note that images H and O corroborate what Jason from MSW recently said about Rey’s hair and Lando’s costume in the film. I received these images prior MSW’s article being published which not only lends credibility to Jason’s sources but also confirms to me that my source is solid. In addition to those two images, there’s plenty here to analyze, discuss and generally obsess over. Enjoy!”

The pictures show several new aliens, a new droid, our first looks at the costumes of new returning characters in Episode IX. As always if you are trying to avoid all Episode IX spoilers then stop reading now.

Leaked Episode IX Concept Art and Reference Photos from StarWarsLeaks

This is our first look at the characters played by Dominic Monaghan who looks to be a Resistance officer and Richard E. Grant respectively playing a First Order officer. It is also our first look at Rey, Lando, and Kylo’s looks in the new film (though we had heard about Kylo’s red tweaks to his helmet previously). We also get another look at Poe Dameron’s costume, which was previously seen in some leaked pictures from the set. The droid under label B matches up with existing descriptions of a droid called D.O., who is set to be BB-8’s biggest fan of sorts. One detail that’s really interesting, is the character under label G appears to be a younger Mon Calamari, the same species as Admiral Ackbar, will the resistance get some new Star Cruisers to fight back at the First Order!
