The WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge, something I haven’t done in a long while, and for this week’s photo challenge, they asked us to stop and photograph something we experienced or witnessed something interesting thing On The Way to our final destination.

This a photo taken at Kilnsey Park Trout Farm nestled under the Kilnsey Crag when we stopped off at for a few minutes on our way to the Kettlewell Mayfest in the Yorkshire Dales…which was a fabulous day out, so I’ve included a few photographs of that as well below.

Serenity Beach

I was asked how do you embody Serenity in a photograph, we’ll this one was is easy for me, the beach at Filey on a cold winters day is a place of utmost tranquility, peacefulness and serenity, especially when it’s secluded, apart from the odd dog walker, which is exactly what I was doing on the day I took these photos while my nine year old Jack Russell ran around with the boundless joy of a puppy…I guess she was having a serenity moment as well.

The real beauty for me of this serene beach in the harshness of winter, it allows you to switch off completely from the outside world, and soak up the beach and become one with the sounds, smells and scenery stretched out in front of you… My pure heaven.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Grand

Grand Old Leeds

eaOne of the very first WordPress Photo Challenge I ever participated in was “Big” so it seems quite fitting I start doing the Photo Challenges again after nearly a 4 month break with the theme “GRAND”. The photo’s I’m submitting is of the Leeds Skyline on a very cold night.

I’d managed to sweet talk the security team looking after the City Island residential scheme, on the edge of the city to let me use one their apartments for some night photography. Amazingly he gave me the keys to the empty Penthouse suite ‘Room 102’ on the 19th floor, not ideal for those afraid of heights like me, but I was prepared to overcome this fear in the faint hope of getting some nice shots of the city at night.

Earth Shine Leeds

This long panorama included the Crescent Moon on the far right with a lovely glint of Earth Shine.

City Lights

Had to include a B/W shot, as it makes the city lights look so sharp.

I’ve made ALL the images a Gallery Link, so you can see the detail better.

One of my favourite captures recently perfectly says it all for this weeks WordPress Photo Challenge…This lovely senior lady looks so ‘Young at Heart’ and Carefree enjoying her Ryeburn of Helmsley’s champion diary ice cream outside the York Museum.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Colour

I thought why submit a few ‘Colour’ Themed images for this weeks WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge, but instead over 1000, so I downloaded my full Instagram library of 1020 images (to be exact) to create a colourful Rainbow Mosaic using them all.
