Weekly Photo Challenge: Beyond

Wordpress Weekly Photo Challenge BeyondThis weeks WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge asked us if we had a photo which invites the viewer to look beyond? Are there hidden depths in the background?  Is there a reason why the viewer should look beyond? and if so, tell you!

The above image was taken last Monday on a lunchtime walk away from the studio, but! it’s what laid beyond this wintery inviting lane that was a sad sight to see, especially after the weekend of cold sleet and snow. What I found was this sad, wet, cold and lonely fellow (below) in the field, although I did took a few pictures, he was especially glad to see me, as his supply of hay had run out and the only bits left where on my side of the fence, so I duly fed him all I could find…which I think he was quite glad of.

Just after I took a pic of these horses, the owner turned up in a 4×4 with a few bales of warm hay… a happy end of sorts.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections

Night Reflections on Filey Beach

Moon Reflection on Filey Bay
Moon Reflection on Filey Bay

Reflections at night can create amazing photos under wet conditions and what better place than a beach just after the tide has gone out. So for this Weekly Photo Challenge Reflections, my subject is Filey beach with Moon Reflections. (one day-time beach reflection shot as well)

Filey is a place I go to reflect and unwind from the rat-race of city life in Leeds, it’s where I can totally ‘switch-off’ and just soak up the smells and sounds, these may only be for a fleeting moments, but they charge my soul batteries my months.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Thankful

My Heart in Wifey’s Hand

This weeks WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge is ‘Thankful’ …what are you thankful for in your life as we head towards the end of 2012?

I’m thankful for so so many things, my girls especially, but most of all is the constant and unrelenting love of a good woman..my wife.

Her Heart…My Hands

I’m also quite Thankful for Photography, because as Ian Ruhter said…

“When I found photography, it was like I found my voice.”

Weekly Photo Challenge: Foreign

Looks like Sara Rosso has set quite a tough WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge with the theme ‘Foreign‘ this week. I took this photo in an old abandoned brickwork factory which now has a new life as the urban playground for local Graffiti Artists plying their own visual style, which to the uninitiated can seem quite Foreign, take the picture in question… beautifully crafted in a visual language all of its own. I’ll visually explore this Graffiti Factory in-depth in my next post.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette

Silhouette‘s mixed with stunning sunsets, a WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge theme which is so dear to my heart in terms of photography, the reason being….I love taking photos of the Leeds skyline at sunset, I was quite spoilt for choice for this weeks Photo Challenge, so I’ve done another mosaic gallery… hope you like them 🙂
