Have you ever felt Scared taking a photograph?
I did taking this shot walking along the Southbank in London whilst taking some night photography, I was trying to stick to the embankment, but I had to make a detour to get to my destination, which was Tower Bridge. I stumbled on this dark and ominous street with a faint light at the end and took this Eerie shot, it felt very cold and spooky in the street at 2.00am. It wasn’t until I got back to Leeds that I realised where I was at the time, it was in fact Clink Street, home of England’s oldest and ‘Most’ notorious medieval prison…The Clink!! …I think it makes the photo feel even more eerie now.
I have….and I love this shot of yours….it’s perfect and full of dark mystery!
Do tell…
Thanks for the kind comments also Seonaid
I’m assuming you used a digital camera ?
oops, hit enter too quickly! I ask since I’ve never been able to get photos this good when shooting at night!
I hardly ever shoot at night without a trusty tripod, yes it was digital as well… Although I did use film recently
That picture strikes some resonating chords deep inside. Good job.
Same here, it was only after that I realised how much the picture talked to you
I do not know the area but I have taken a fair number of risks for the “shot” I would love to visit but not alone !
Quite the new look in your blog!
My fear of heights is my biggest problem, but I seem to be getting over it a little…
Thanks for comments about the new look
Carl 🙂
I like it indeed. Fear of deep water would be my nemesis !
Fantastic photo ! it is only our imagination that makes it be eerie… I’d be more afraid of purse snatchers than ghosts in that place – Great photo anyway.
Thanks Vera …My wife keeps saying that I’ll get myself hurt one day trying to get that ‘elusive’ shot 😉
Wow that’s beautiful! Being scared of taking a photo? Well it’s worth it in the end right? 😉
Thanks Daphnée…the things we do for our art 😉
Just one word for this; WOOoOooooOoOOOoW!
Thank YooOOuuu 🙂 🙂
I have taken a similar photo from Mousehole in Cornwall – but not even close to yours … but I thought it was pretty good. *smile – until now.
I’m fascinated by your take…
And by your courage !
I just stumbled upon it Anna, not something I went find 😉
Yes, I have… But your photograph is amazing, I couldn’t have taken 🙂 Thank you, love, nia
Thanks so much Nia 🙂
I love everything about this picture. Yes, definitely a bit eerie, and it captures the feeling so well.
Hi Erika 🙂 …Thanks for the kind compliments
This is a fantastic image, Carl!
I can honestly say I’ve never felt scared while taking a photograph, cus well, I’m not a photographer. But you’ve definitely captured that feeling well here. Very impressive!
Thanks Alex for the lovely comments… posting some more from that night next.
Carl 🙂
Beautiful but yes, slightly eerie shot.
I’ve been venturing into the woods lately to take shots of snow but there have been times when I realized that I was alone in the woods. I was more afraid of wild animals then shady people but still I always make sure I have my cell phone with me at all times.
I bet those snowy wood shots are awesome, I used to venture in the woods on snowy days when got my film SLR …Keep safe taking them shots 🙂
