What a great theme this weeks WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge is, I was originally going to show a variety of pics including some of my lovely Wife and my gorgeous Girls that make me so happy, but I decided to submit an individual subject…MY DOG …this is not to say I love the dog more than my wife or girls 🙂
Thanks Colline, she was sat on the stairs behind the stair case spindles looking out for the postman to arrive…she has a love-hate relationship with him 🙂
You don’t see cats and dogs hanging out together often! 🙂
Aw – what a cute little girl! We’ve got a new photo challenge we just launched this week – it would be great if you’d join in! http://www.letsbewild.com/photo-challenge/
Not sure if this really was a “challenge” for you! 🙂 She is very photogenic and her personality shows through tremendously. Great work.. I’m sure your wife and children agree.
My favorite is the “I love snow” one. The lighting is so soft, and the few snowflakes on the dog’s head are perfect. I loved the format for the post. Beautifully done!
Gorgeous! I really enjoyed these pictures! You have a beautiful dog, love the colors, the head and eyes 🙂 I’m sure it gives you happy moments every day!
beautiful photographs…U’ve managed some excellent photgraphy..
the photo with ur dog and a cat totally cracked me up, its very interesting to see them together 🙂
Aww! I absolutely love those photos and all the captions are so cute! I have tried to do similar with my dog, but she just won’t sit still. I need to have my camera on me at all times! haha! What kind of dog is he/she?
Fantastic photos – what a cute Jack Russell! May I ask how do you format it into a collage like that? – I always struggle a bit and find moving photos around in wordpress a bit clunky. But that could be just my poor computer skills…
You need to goto the Dashboard, select the Settings tab at the bottom, then Media, there you’ll find a new button called Tiled Galleries, (Display all your gallery pictures in a cool mosaic.) select this and any new galleries will look like mine.
Add descriptions to the images, as this acts as the text highlighter for the image roll-overs.
You can change them to either circles, squares or rectangles.
Thank you so much, I have to say she really ‘hates’ the postman and goes wild when he arrives, but apart from him she’s so gentle and loving to everyone who comes to the house
Thanks, I was truly overjoyed at getting Pressed, the WordPress team was so good prior to it getting published, telling what to expect and telling me about the new ‘Freshly Pressed’ widget I’d get
I’m most definitely a dog person. I mean, the way they look at you when you come home each day is like they haven’t seen you for years. Nobody could ever get so attached to one like dogs can.
Ah…happiness every day! Such unconditional love, such unrestrained joy, such loyalty! Thanks for sharing! I especially liked the last nose picture, very endearing!
You’ve got some amazing pictures here. I believe that they actually portrait happiness itself, which is 1.quite hard to achieve and 2. harder even when you’re working with animals.
Your dog is beautiful.
You are a very talented person. I am glad i’ve bumped into your blog.
sorry Carl, I just saw your reply to my above comment and you made me laugh, thanks!!!!
My name is Carina and you posted this actually on my birthday. But once again, your dog is sooo lovely, I have a fav. photo amongst them!
So you captured my sentiments exactly. I felt badly that I didn’t include my husband in my Thankful post. That is not to say that I’m not extremely thankful for him. Sometimes you just gotta’ go with the loyal, 4-legged companion!! Besides, I had Daisy before I knew my husband 🙂
Man’s Best Friend…all of the proof that you need… 😉
She sure is:)
super cute dog , Love.
TYSM 🙂
What a great idea! The gallery layout was a great format to show off all those photos.
Nancy
Thanks Nancy, I would have taken me forever if I hadn’t done a single theme
Congrats on being Freshly Pressed! How fun!
BTW – I never responded to your note, but that single theme is a great idea. I don’t know why, but that one hadn’t occurred to me to try.
Man and his best friend, he looks energetic and cute
She can be a lazy little dog at times 🙂
Beautiful pics. My favourite? The B&W one of your dog peeking from behind something.
Thanks Colline, she was sat on the stairs behind the stair case spindles looking out for the postman to arrive…she has a love-hate relationship with him 🙂
Top-notch pet portraits…
Thanks Maurizio, she always sits patiently for her photo taking 🙂
Awwwwwww the last picture of the dog with the cat is so precious! 🙂
Thanks Ioanna, she’s quite friendly with our cat, but doesn’t like any others 🙂
You don’t see cats and dogs hanging out together often! 🙂

What a great photo essay! I love it!
Thanks Julie 🙂
Not sure if this really was a “challenge” for you! 🙂 She is very photogenic and her personality shows through tremendously. Great work.. I’m sure your wife and children agree.

Aww he’s lovely no wonder he makes you happy! great collection of photos 🙂
Thanks, ‘She” 🙂 sure does 🙂 🙂
Oops! Mines a boy so it’s automatic to say He! lol
Not a problem 🙂 …Its a common mistake with her, that why we got her a pink collar with diamonds 🙂
Your dog definitely deserved to be Freshly Pressed! They bring us such joy. ~ Kat
Thanks Kat…Couldn’t have happend to a better dog
Awesome photos, really love how you put that collage together. Miss doggie looks soooo happy too. Bet she loved the attention.
Thanks, its done using the ‘New’ gallery mosaic option that WordPress launched a few weeks ago.
Love these. But I’m afraid the cat is *not* happy.
Trust me Sandy, that cat rules the roost over the dog 🙂
Thank 😦
My favorite is the “I love snow” one. The lighting is so soft, and the few snowflakes on the dog’s head are perfect. I loved the format for the post. Beautifully done!
She got the dusting of snow from catching snowballs, she really loves it when the snow falls
The b&w shot “Looking out for the postman” is a really great shot.
Thanks Wendy, she was quite intensely watching out for him 🙂
Gorgeous! I really enjoyed these pictures! You have a beautiful dog, love the colors, the head and eyes 🙂 I’m sure it gives you happy moments every day!
Thanks again Niki, she really does give me lots of happy moments 🙂
today only i read somewhere, when there’s no one to feel you…it’s the dog that gives you the best hug. how true?
Neeraj that’s a really great quote, I’ll remember that one for a long time now 🙂
Wonderful photos and captions. My dog brings me happiness, too.
Thanks, that’s so nice to know 🙂
Adorable dog!!! His face looks a lot like my dog, Milo!
TYSM, you can’t beat a lovely happy dog
Nothing better than a happy dog. Love it.
Totally agree 🙂
So pretty!

Cute dog.
Thanks
Your dog is adorable!
Thanks Nicolle 🙂
These photos are lovely! Not to mention your dog is the cutest thing on the face of this earth!
Such a lovely comment, thank you so much 🙂
Ah, there’s nothing happier than a dog, except maybe a puppy. Great use of the new photo format too. I’ll have to try it out some day.
So true:) Give the new format a go, it’s really good; you’ll need to enable it first in Settings / Media …good luck, I’ll keep a look out for it 🙂
Thanks Carl. I’ll call you if I can’t figure it out. 🙂
Thanks for the tip. I’ve enabled it in settings, but then how do I adjust the size of the rectangle?
It’s quite random, you can control the order by assigning numbers to them in the gallery options
Adorable best friend you have! Enjoyed looking at all the photos!
Thanks Lisa, glad you enjoyed them all 🙂
That is the clear definition of a mans bestfriend. Its crazy how I do not even own a dog but after reading this review, I want one 🙂
I hope you get one, you won’t regret it:)
She has so many expressions! What a great serious of photos; she is certainly happy.
Cheers,
iRuniBreathe
Thanks, her current expression is sleep 🙂 🙂
Loved every single one of these pictures, especially the bath one and the bannister one. Congrats on being chosen for FP!!
Thanks LubbyGirl, I like the bathtub shot as well, it’s my desktop background.
beautiful photographs…U’ve managed some excellent photgraphy..
the photo with ur dog and a cat totally cracked me up, its very interesting to see them together 🙂
Thanks, she’s the perfect subject 🙂 The cat really rules the roost over the dog
and the photograph totally captures that…something royal about the way the cat’s sitting beside the dog 🙂
Your dog looks so intelligent!
She really understands you at times:)
Haha, the very first photo is a face of sheer happiness =P
I think she was looking up at squirrels in the trees at the time:)
Aww! I absolutely love those photos and all the captions are so cute! I have tried to do similar with my dog, but she just won’t sit still. I need to have my camera on me at all times! haha! What kind of dog is he/she?
Thanks Maddie, she’s not bothered about the camera, I think she’s got used to it over time as I’ve nearly always got it to hand.
She’s a happy Jack Russell 🙂
uber cute
Cheers Steve
I love this!
I’m glad sharing them does that 🙂 Thx
🙂
Dogs do indeed bring great joy and happiness! be it a 7# chihuahua princess or a 120# lumbering irish wolfhound! or a jack russell in your case 🙂
How true, they give unconditional love 🙂
I cant imagine my life without them!
CUTE!!
Thanks:)
Fantastic photos – what a cute Jack Russell! May I ask how do you format it into a collage like that? – I always struggle a bit and find moving photos around in wordpress a bit clunky. But that could be just my poor computer skills…
Hi Jura
Thanks for the lovely comments 🙂
You need to goto the Dashboard, select the Settings tab at the bottom, then Media, there you’ll find a new button called Tiled Galleries, (Display all your gallery pictures in a cool mosaic.) select this and any new galleries will look like mine.
Add descriptions to the images, as this acts as the text highlighter for the image roll-overs.
You can change them to either circles, squares or rectangles.
Forgot to mention, change them to Squares, Circles or Rectangles, you need to change the Gallery shortcode in the Visual/TEXT window from
[gallery to either
[gallery:type=rectangle]
[gallery:type=circle]
[gallery:type=square]
by default I think it squares
Good luck, let us know how you get on 🙂
Thanks!
Adorable! My dog looks a little like yours. And like you, I have a million pictures of him. 🙂
Thanks, she got a few more snaps taken of her as well today:)
Great photos, there is nothing like the love of a faithful companion.
Emily, I couldn’t agree with you more 🙂
I think I heard the Postman and Postman is Coming are my favorite, you are an awesome photographer, oooh also Happy Dog is pretty snazzy
Thank you so much, I have to say she really ‘hates’ the postman and goes wild when he arrives, but apart from him she’s so gentle and loving to everyone who comes to the house
Way to go Carl! Congrats on being Freshly Pressed! 🙂

You’ve got some amazing pictures here. I believe that they actually portrait happiness itself, which is 1.quite hard to achieve and 2. harder even when you’re working with animals.
Your dog is beautiful.
You are a very talented person. I am glad i’ve bumped into your blog.
Thanks Wan, she’s grown used to me taking pics of her over time, she’s becoming quite a natural at it.
Thanks for the kind words as well 🙂
Ha! He’s actually posing for all the pics..adorable.
She is quite a poser, it comes from me always taking pics of her, she’s now become a natural 🙂
I love taking pics of my dog but the flash annoys him 😀
Love it! People need to love their animals more…
Totally agree😊👍
Adorable doggy!
She is right now…snoring her little heart out😊👍
How can a man not love that happy face? Great photos, and I am sure a great companion, i.e. after your wife and girls.

Cute dog – miss not having a dog in this country.
Thanks Ciao, I couldn’t be without her 🙂
sorry Carl, I just saw your reply to my above comment and you made me laugh, thanks!!!!
My name is Carina and you posted this actually on my birthday. But once again, your dog is sooo lovely, I have a fav. photo amongst them!
Sorry Carina, I realised afterwards…need to brush up on my Italian 🙂
So you captured my sentiments exactly. I felt badly that I didn’t include my husband in my Thankful post. That is not to say that I’m not extremely thankful for him. Sometimes you just gotta’ go with the loyal, 4-legged companion!! Besides, I had Daisy before I knew my husband 🙂
Thanks Lexi, I’m sure they’ll be future challenges to add him in, I’ve still got to devote one to my two lovely girls… one day soon hopefully.
awww!
